About the Congress

In times of rapid transformation, tourism is being reshaped by global challenges and disruptive opportunities. Climate change, digitalisation, new mobility patterns, and shifts in consumer behaviour demand a fundamental rethinking of how tourism is planned and managed.
INTUR 2026 – International Congress on Tourism Futures, organised by ISCET – Higher Institute for Business and Tourism Sciences, will provide an international platform for critical reflection, knowledge sharing and collaborative solutions among academics, professionals, policymakers, and the community.
Held in Porto, INTUR 2026 aims to explore emerging trends in leisure, innovation, and marketing through a multidisciplinary scientific programme, fostering a more sustainable, inclusive, and intelligent future for tourism.
Main outcomes to attain
- To critically reflect on emerging global tourism trends, analysing their applicability and impact at local, regional, national and international levels.
- To bring together academics, industry professionals, and policymakers in a collaborative environment that promotes the sharing of experiences, best practices, and research outcomes.
- To strengthen both ISCET and its partners by promoting a strategic thinking about tourism and its structuring link with the communities, in general, and with the business fabric, in particular.
- To consolidate INTUR Porto 2026 as a leading scientific event that stimulates international debate on the future of tourism, and also creates academic, social, and economic impact on the Portuguese community.
- To boost relevant knowledge, inspire new practices, and contribute to a more innovative, sustainable, inclusive, and intelligent tourism relying on ten major thematic areas and on a diverse and interdisciplinary scientific body.
Sobre o Congresso
Em tempos de rápida transformação, o turismo está a ser remodelado por desafios globais e oportunidades disruptivas. As alterações climáticas, a digitalização, os novos padrões de mobilidade e as mudanças no comportamento dos consumidores exigem uma reformulação fundamental da forma como o turismo é planeado e gerido.
O INTUR 2026 – International Congress on Tourism Futures, organizado pelo ISCET – Instituto Superior de Ciências Empresariais e do Turismo, proporcionará uma plataforma internacional para reflexão crítica, partilha de conhecimentos e soluções colaborativas entre académicos, profissionais, decisores políticos e a comunidade.
Realizado no Porto, o INTUR 2026 tem como objetivo explorar as tendências emergentes em lazer, inovação e marketing através de um programa científico multidisciplinar, promovendo um futuro mais sustentável, inclusivo e inteligente para o turismo.
Principais objetivos:
- Refletir sobre as tendências emergentes do turismo a nível global, analisando a sua aplicabilidade e impacto nos contextos locais, regionais, nacionais e internacionais;
- Reunir académicos, profissionais do setor e decisores políticos num ambiente colaborativo, promotor da partilha de experiências, boas práticas e resultados de investigação;
- Projetar o ISCET e demais entidades colaborativas no âmbito de um pensamento estratégico sobre o turismo e a sua ligação estruturante com as comunidades em geral e o tecido empresarial em particular;
- Consolidar o INTUR como um evento científico de referência, dinamizador do debate internacional sobre o futuro do turismo, com impacto académico, social e económico na sociedade.
- Gerar, através do desenvolvimento de dez grandes áreas temáticas e com os contributos de um corpo científico diversificado e interdisciplinar, conhecimento relevante, inspirar novas práticas e contribuir para um turismo mais inovador, sustentável, inclusivo e inteligente.
